You can also make Autocorrect phrases with formatting! (This is super cool and I just learned it today!) You can do plain text AutoCorrect by just going to File > Options > Mail > Spelling and Autocorrect > Autocorrect Options and entering the text you will write (AKA Trigger phrase) and the text you would like it to be replaced with. This is the easiest solution for my specific issue.ī) If any of you have a custom shortcut you'd like to have with no alternative, I would suggest creating an AutoCorrect phrase. (Another user commented below saying they REMOVED this feature and that there is a sincere loss of functionality with this change.) Ī) Get used to the Ctrl+Shift+L shortcut. I found the MS forum post below with a response from MS staff saying this feature is not supported. When I tried to follow these instructions for Outlook I reached a dead end when I found that there is no Customize button and no Keyboard shortcut of any kind. (To see these instructions with screenshots please look here: ) I was able to set up a custom hotkey in MS Word by going to File > Options > Custom Ribbon and clicking the "Customize" button next to "Keyboard shortcuts: ". I want to be able to use this shortcut for all my other MS Office programs where I might want to format my text. because it is simpler and because I'm already used to it. (Other MS programs use Ctrl+Shift+L - OneNote has both.) For some reason OneNote is the only MS Office program with this default shortkey. to start a bulleted list - this is something I got used to in OneNote.
